I absolutely love the bass. Out of the box, I tuned to my preference, lowered the action and went on my way. Great tone. The active boost controls do what they do. Sounds great in passive mode as well. Overall great bass. Build quality is superb imo. Wood grain is beautiful. My only 'con' is the excessive dye on the frets. Turning my fingers black every time I play. I've got new strings on the way. I'll be cleaning that up a bit during the string change. Get cha one. For the price, these can't be beat. Its a PJ.
